I was going to write an article this week titled “How to Turn Your Website into a Sales Machine,” but honestly I think there’s enough articles out there already about that topic and although I understand the theory behind how to do this, I’m still working on implementing it in my own business.
And I think that as much as people want to make more money and business IS about making money, what people really want and crave right now is connection. At least I know I’ve been craving that. The realities of this pandemic have been setting in and even though restrictions are lifting, I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling the pressure of an upcoming second wave and have been trying to squeeze as much joy and presence and memories out of the present moment as possible, before the threat of everything being shut down again starts up. And that pressure is totally cramping my summer vibes.
I’m very thankful that I chose to start an online business and have been able to continue working despite the pandemic. I know there are a lot of business owners, entrepreneurs and employees out there who are struggling right now, and even if they are open, things just aren’t the same. It can be super stressful. Change can be stressful. The unknown can be stressful. And yet we keep going, press on, often not even acknowledging the heightened stress, the holding of breath, the waiting to exhale, to feel somewhat safe again.
So I wanted to check in with you? I wanted to see how you are doing in all of this? Take a minute to check in with yourself right now. How are you? Actually?
And I’m gonna tell you what I tell all my friends (and often myself too). It’s ok to ask for help. It’s smart to ask for help. It’s necessary to ask for help.
Help comes in lots of forms. It can be a smile from an old man at the grocery store, or an act of kindness, buying coffee for the vehicle behind you at Tim Hortons. I just want to tell you, you are not alone. It’s all going to be ok. We are getting through this. And it’s okay to feel the feelings that you are experiencing right now. Whatever they are. No judgement. And to find help, if you need it.
We are all connected and I think that it’s important to remember that, not just with your business, but in life. Build those connections. Take care of yourself and that will help you (have more energy, life, love and connection) in your business. Call your mom. Support a local business. Check in on someone. And if you are doing anything with your business right now, build connections. Let people know you care and you are here for them and with them.
Thanks for reading. Sending love.
P.S. Is there anything I can do to help? Do you have any questions about writing for your business that I might be able to answer? What are you wondering about when you write about your business?
